Building 640 Construction Progress

December 23, 2011: The Building 640 roof collapsed during shoring. (Bldg 641 was retained). This was a blessing in disguise, as we were able to cover the costs of the rebuild through the contractor, with brand new construction materials like trusses. We were also able to repurpose some of the existing historic elements for a more stable, structurally sound, building.

January – July 2012: Demolition, Hazmat work on 641, Site Work, Construction of retaining wall, ground utility hook ups. Structural building redesigns submitted.

August – September 2012: Designs approved, Roof Trusses fabricated.

October 2012 – November 2012: Roof Trusses installed / roof work in-progress.

May 25, 2013: Reconstruction completed.

Summer 2013: “Hard Hat” Tours of our new facility (by arrangement).

June 29, 2013: Members Sneak Peek.

November 11, 2013: Military Intelligence Service Historic Learning Center soft-launch opening ceremony.

November 2013: Military Intelligence Service Historic Learning Center now open on weekends.
