Pete Yamamoto will be presenting his first and new book of poetry, "Journey".  He will be reading selections from the book, and other writings.  Pete Yamamoto is a Hapa Yonsei poet in Japantown.  He sees his poetry as a personal quest that relates to the experiences of us all.  Please come to enjoy this written experience that touches on humanity and search.  His poetic journey is a quest for self-understanding and commentary on the issues that face the community, nation, and the world.  His book will become available online from Amazon.com.  

 

San Francisco artist/photographer Leon Sun gives a work-in-progress report on his current book about the making of his garden, about how a chore doing backyard clean-up turned into an art project and a spiritual journey - with some guidance along the way from his dogs! He will ask his audience to help select a title for the book, due to be completed and self-published this summer. Leon's photos from Bhutan are in the current Deep Roots/New Shoots exhibit in the Peace Gallery. He has two previous books available at the NJAHS bookstore.
