This spring the “Women Making Art” workshop returns to the National Japanese American Historical Society to salute the artists of the Relocation Camps, whose beautifully crafted works made from shells were documented in Delphine Hirasuna’sThe Art of Gaman: Arts and Crafts from the Japanese American Internment Camps 1942-1946. We will make arts and crafts using shells collected by the family of Kaz Abey from the Topaz Relocation Camp. Please join us for this free workshop and the opportunity to display small shell crafted items to be installed in the “Deep Roots, New Shoots” exhibit in NJAHS Peace Gallery.  For more information, contact Holly at pinaymujer@gmail.com
