Despite Obama’s reopening of diplomatic relations with Cuba, trade and travel are still restricted. Join Tsukimi Kai as they share about their trip to Cuba to connect with Cubans of Japanese and Okinawan descent.
Tsukimi Kai is an inter-generational group of mostly Japanese and Okinawan descent (Nikkei). We document the history of Nikkei-Cubans, share stories, celebrate common cultural roots, and compare experiences. Through cultural exchange and dialogue, we cross the boundaries of distance, language, culture, and politics to build peace, friendship and solidarity with the Cuban people.
