Masanori “Mas” Hongo
Masanori “Mas” Hongo was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii and moved to California as a young man to attend Sacramento Junior College. He discusses his role in setting up and operating clinics to inoculate Japanese Americans who would soon be forcibly removed and incarcerated. At Tule Lake WRA Concentration Camp, he became a laboratory technician before being drafted into the U.S. Army. Hongo studied the Japanese Language at the Military Intelligence Service Language School at Fort Snelling and served in the Postwar Occupatino of Japan.
