{"id":45,"date":"2022-10-18T15:50:56","date_gmt":"2022-10-18T15:50:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/njahs.org\/enemy-alien-files\/?page_id=45"},"modified":"2022-12-23T23:07:40","modified_gmt":"2022-12-23T23:07:40","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/njahs.org\/enemy-alien-files\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h1>The Enemy Alien Files Consortium<\/h1>\n<p>\u201cThe Enemy Alien Files\u201d Consortium is a unique collaboration among the Japanese, German and Italian American communities who initially came together in 2000 to develop the groundbreaking traveling exhibit, &#8220;The Enemy Alien Files: Hidden Stories of World War II.\u201d\u00a0 The exhibit first debuted in 2001, ten days after the 9\/11 tragedy, and provided a timely opportunity to explore the fragile nature of our constitutional and human rights in times of international and domestic crisis as well as the human impact of government policies in the name of &#8220;national security.&#8221;\u00a0 Twenty years later, such reflection and dialogue remains ever relevant today.<\/p>\n<p>The Consortium continues to organize educational projects and promote public dialogue about the WWII experiences of immigrants targeted as \u201cthe enemy\u201d and their families in the U.S. and from Latin America, and lessons which may be applicable to current national and world events.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Consortium Members<\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/6&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;294&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; onclick=&#8221;custom_link&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;5\/6&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aiha-wrc.org\">Italian American Studies Association \/ Western Regional Chapter<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong>(formerly the American Italian Historical Association\/Western Regional Chapter)<\/p>\n<p>The IASA\/WRC is part of a national organization, founded in 1966, committed to exploring the history and culture of Italians in America.\u00a0 This Chapter provides research and educational programs, including its traveling exhibit, UNA STORIA SEGRETA: When Italians were \u2018Enemy Aliens.\u2019 Contact IASA\/WRC at P.O.
