2:00-4:00 pm- Passing Poston (106 minutes) Film Screening w/ 10 min. intermission
4:00-4:45 pm – Panel Discussion, Q&A

NJAHS will host a series of public programs in conjunction with PASSAGES FROM POSTON: Contemporary photographs of a former Japanese American confinement site. Photographs by Ira Nowinski, including an opening reception, film screening of Passing Poston (courtesy of Joe Fox/Fly on the Wall Productions), and a panel discussion on Saturday, May 31, 2014, from 1:00 to 5 pm, at Building 640, the Military Intelligence Service (MIS) Historic Learning Center in the Presidio of San Francisco. There will be a screening of Passing Poston, and Director Joe Fox will be present. The Panel Discussion will include Fox as film director /producer, photographer Ira Nowinski, Mas Hashimoto high school teacher and formerly incarcerated in Poston camp II, and Ruth Okimoto formerly incarcerated in Poston, who is also featured in Passing Poston and the author of Sharing A Desert Home.

Museum Admission is $10 person. Admission is free for NJAHS members, veterans and children 12 and under and for this public event program.

Other public programs are being planned throughout the summer.
