Classroom Activities
The following activities have been excerpted
from the Teacher’s Guide to Uncommon Courage.
Though it is recommended that the guide be used in its entirety
in teaching students about MIS history and activities, the
following lessons in particular help students understand the
complexity of issues surrounding citizenship and loyalty,
personal rights and freedom, and bridge cultural differences
and understanding.
The materials should be used only after students
have watched the entire video "Uncommon Courage"
and have had in-class discussions about relevant topics. The
video is available for sale through the NJAHS
web site.
Note: You will need Acrobat
Reader 5.0 or later to view and print the following materials.
